The 8 PILLARS OF FOUNDATION
We believe children learn through social interaction with other children and adults, through active exploration of their environment and through play. Children’s learning reflects a recurring cycle that begins in awareness and moves to exploration, to inquiry, and finally, to utilization. In addition, children’s interests and “need to know” motivate learning. Children learn best when their physical needs are met and they feel psychologically safe and secure. We believe human development is characterized by a wide range of individual variation which is normal and to be expected.
Our goal is to create an environment of love and compassion where children develop according to their personal learning styles. We created the 8 pillars hopeful to help children gain confidence, to appreciate their individual differences, to become self-directed and to develop physical and social skills.
Sustainment
Taking care of things, cleaning up after themselves.
Independent Mindset
Let them figure out how to accomplish a task , yet come alongside during frustrations to ask questions that would give them the opportunity to be successful.
Learning
Learning to live freely within boundaries.
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
Time spent one on one, at eye level, building value, self worth, and confidence.
HAND EYE COORDINATION
Throwing, catching, kicking balls. Building large motor skills, which give confidence when playing with others and themselves.
BOOKS
Read to by female and male: Men and women read stories differently, moms read verbatim and dads add commentary to the story pictures.
Emotions
Learning what emotions are, how we can control them, and how to work within them.

Starting with the House Cafe, then the Teen Center, and now The Way Early Learning Center – we’re striving to provide services and give back to the community of Ogden in as many ways as we can.
